Clark County Public Library, Main Branch to Host The Gammon House and Gem City Selfie Museum “Together We Rise” Pop-up Exhibit in October
(Springfield, OH–) The Clark County Public Library (Main Branch) is pleased to host The Gammon House and Gem City Selfie Museum pop-up exhibit, “Together We Rise”, taking place in the rotunda space October 20th – 23rd, 2022, during open library hours. Admission to the pop-up exhibition is free.
The exhibit will feature interactive illustrations and installations, known as selfie walls. Four walls in total will be on display and they will center on the theme “Together We Rise.” Artists from the Gem City Selfie Museum will design and create the walls with an educational objective that centers on the exhibit theme by pulling inspiration from The Gammon House and Springfield and also promotes mental health management through color therapy.
The Gammon House is a Springfield Historic Landmark Site, built in 1850 in Springfield, Ohio. It is one of only three stops on the Underground Railroad still in existence in Ohio that were owned by a free person of color. Find out more about The Gammon House by visiting www.gammonhouseoh.org.
The Gem City Selfie Museum was founded in Dayton, Ohio in 2021 by Na’Asiaha Simon. The museum is a creative space with interactive installations promoting color and phototherapy for social and mental wellness through exhibits and outreach.
